Buffy vs. Edward and HP… The Musical
I have about thirty seconds before I have to go have my writing critiqued (a word which here means “shredded’) but I must say that this has made my day. I don’t really know Buffy the Vampire Slayer, though it’s something I’d like to check out when I have, yanno, time, but I love her now. Honestly. Because she could totally beat Edward. Also, with the exception of the differences in camera distance and lighting (which is a bit jarring) I thought the vid maker did a fantastic job of mixing the two.
So yeah. It’s at the linky above.
Also, there’s this girl here who’s a Harry Potter obsessive (she admits it, even. Huge joke regarding that that will have to wait for a later post because class is like right now) but this might be over the top for her. I think they win at life, even if it’s a sad, pathetic life.
Toodles peeps. (Being in English Lit/Comp for five hours a day is degrading my vocabulary away from class)

Doing Sekrit Things
And loving it.
Well, I’m here, for better or for worse. Hopefully better, though – I’m really excited so far, and it should be fantastic. I might post about this Sekrit Thing later, or I might just post for my friends. But you will hear, BA, so don’t be worried.
Happy Juneteenth, everyone! If you don’t know what it is, get yourself over to Wikipedia and look it up. The wiki page is pretty inclusive.
It’s also the first anniversary of my meeting with CM. It doesn’t seem like that long. Time flies too damn fast.

How
Do I get you to talk me into these things, BA. My god. It’s two in the morning.
Quick rundown of my life, because I don’t have the brainpower for the entire post I had planned.
-I’m signed up for Modern Dance classes this summer. We’ll see how that goes.
-I’ve moved into flats and sharps in DreamingOfNothing’s Exclusive Piano School. Meaning that I’m trying to teach myself and hoping I don’t screw up too much. I can read notes, and we have a few piano-teaching books. So I’m DIYing it. As in Do It Yourself. I like piano, though. It’s relaxing and decompressing for me.
-School lets out soon. Thank God.
Also, watch Joyeux Noel, the English/French/German film. It’s fantastic. The Christmas Truce is one of those random awesome things you never hear anything about.

Sufficient. Yeah.
Damn it, Shadow Unit. I’m supposed to be studying. And ‘taking a break’ to read the little notasunday snippet wasn’t intended to end in tears. You’re too good, darn you. And too heart-rending right now.
*Sniffles, rubbing eyes with corner of shirt* Kay. Report now.

Yes, I Am
Alive, that is. Posting – no, not really. Not right now.
Just posting so you know I’m still here. Being as it’s been a week.
Yes, I concern myself so much with your mental health. And mine, as while I’m writing this I don’t have to study. Procrastinator.
Anyway. Have a nice week, y’all. Hopefully you can hear more from me tomorrow night or Wednesday.

Can’t Even Believe I’m Doing This
Okay, BA. You got me. I’ll do a quick (I mean it! Quick!) runover of my opinions of 21st Century Breakdown. Probably mostly *thumbs up* or *thumbs down.*
- Song of the Century – I like it. Not like I love it, but I like it. And you’re right, BA, it really showcases Billie Joe’s voice – which, until this album, I was not impressed with. Verdict: *Smile*
- 21st Century Breakdown – I like it (also, the change in tempo, which is something I like throughout the entire album), but again – not singing-in-my-sleep loving. I like it better than SotC, though. Verdict: *Thumb up*
- Know Your Enemy – Don’t like it. Just – doesn’t do a thing for me. Verdict: *Thumb down*
- ¡Viva la Gloria! – Okay. This is one that I love. I’ve listened to it over and over. The beginning, with the soft tone and piano, is gorgeous, and then when it segues into the more rocky portion, it’s just… It’s beautiful. I have a thing for those drumbeats and – oh the cymbals leading in. And the energy of the album didn’t really start carrying for me until this, right here, in the GLORIA! Viva la GLORIA! Verdict: *Three thumbs up, and head nodding to the music*
- Before the Lobotomy – I don’t know. I’m not vemently one way or the other – I just feel very apathetic to this song. Not impressed, really. Verdict: *Shrug*
- Christian’s Inferno – Don’t like it. At all. Verdict: *Skip button*
- Last Night on Earth – I like it. Not my favorite song on the album, but I like it. Verdict: *Thumb up*
- East Jesus Nowhere – I love it. Not quite as much as the Glorias, I’ll give, but it’s definitely one of my favorites. The guitar riffs do it for me on this one, really. Verdict: *Two thumbs up*
- Peacemaker – This one’s interesting. It stands out, but doesn’t really break the flow. Know what I’m saying? The Latin influences really add a twist to the traditional ‘Green Day’ sound – which I’m not a fan of, by the way, which is why this album surprised me so much. I really like this song. Verdict: *Two thumbs up*
- Last of the American Girls – I like the lyrics more than the music of this song, but I really like the lyrics. This whole rock-opera thing blows my mind and I kinda love it. The story… And characters… It’s like a game I play with myself occasionally when I listen to music and try to formulate a music video to it – usually based on characters from books or television. These music videos come together like magic, because the lyrics are so – perfect. Verdict: *Two thumbs up and a smile*
- Murder City – The energy is definitely here. It’s – definitely desperate. And it works, for me. Verdict: *Two thumbs up*
- ¿Viva la Gloria? (Little Girl) – I love this one almost as much as I love the first one. The question marks in the title are fitting, because Christian doesn’t have the same relationship with Gloria as he did in the first song. He’s – almost disgusted. Definitely sneering – you can hear it. Verdict: *Three thumbs up*
- Restless Heart Syndrome – Well. This one and ¡Viva la Gloria! are tying for my favorite song of the album. It’s beautiful, music-wise, and the lyrics are gorgeous as well. And BA’s right – when Billie Joe hits those elated and medicated notes… They’re like crystal, those lovely full notes. Verdict: *Three thumbs up and lip-synching*
- Horseshoes and Handgrenades – Very angry. But it’s full of energy, and it just sweeps you along just to the end. It’s screaming with a tune. Verdict: *Thumb up*
- The Static Age – Sorry, BA. It just didn’t really… Do anything for me. I feel surprisingly ‘meh’ about this song. Like Before the Lobotomy. Verdict: *Shrug*
- 21 Guns – Another favorite. The ballads really work for me, and this song is like an anthem. And the energy is still there, it’s just more deeply woven. Verdict: *Three thumbs up*
- American Eulogy: Mass Hysteria/Modern World – Another ‘meh’ song for me. Deadbeat Holiday never did anything for me either, so I’m not surprised. I have to agree with BA, however, that Mike Dirnt has a fantastic voice, if that’s him singing Modern World. Verdict: *Shrug*
- See the Light – It’s gorgeous and the perfect way to end off this story. That’s all I have to say. Verdict: *Two thumbs up and a peaceful smile*
God. Can’t even believe I just did that. But the story was really something to me, because I’ve never had anything like that before. I love that about this album. And you can actually see them, and hear them, and it’s like you’re watching a musical. It’s amazing.
Oh, shoot. Nearly midnight. I have tests! (And I said I’d be quick. Right.)

Restless Heart Syndrome
Not only is that one of the best Green Day songs I have ever heard, it’s also the illness that’s bringing the world to its knees. On Pandemic II, I’ve infected the entire world at last (though it took extreme patience and stealth to get under the Madagascar firewalls) and the virtual world is dying of Restless Heart Syndrome. I actually considered adding heart failure to the parasite, but it was too expensive so I just went with Chaz’s precious pulmonary edema.
So that makes me happy. As does getting a signed copy of City of Glass (!!!) and a nice, fresh copy of Good Omens. My bookshelf took a bit of rearranging (The Supernaturalist and The Curious Incident of The Dog in the Nighttime had to step down a shelf, as much as I love them, because Good Omens is just too thick) but they’re all in there now, and it makes me happy.
Also, If I Stay is a brilliant book. Bittersweet (Yes, self, I have been using that word to describe it everywhere. You got a better one?) but somehow still gentle and light. I don’t understand how Gayle Forman does it. And on a similar note, I love Goodreads. It’s a fantastic site and I prefer it over Shelfari, even if Shelfari’s prettier. Shelfari doesn’t have a trivia game.
And BA? 21 Guns and Restless Heart Syndrome are favorites. I love. You’ve finally converted me.

Pandemic II
Darn you, Madagascar, New Zealand, and Greenland. It wouldn’t hurt you to take a vacation once in a while. Even if, yanno, the world’s airports and shipyards are all closed.
~DreamingOfNothing (or world domination. Decimation, anyway)
I’m stubborn and wrong
Um… When I said that CM didn’t have it anymore? At least that is was arousing no magic in me?
Oh, sorry, I must have been missing my brain.
Because the finale? Was drop-dead gorgeous. And unbelievably fantastic. Particularly Hotch and his voiceover of awesome.
BlindinglyArticulate, you have a stupendous namesake. Even if you two have, like, nothing in common at all.
Off to angst about finals and standardized tests. I mean, if I can think. Darn you, Aaron Hotchner.
